The softness and drape of alpaca, combined with wool for resilience and elasticity. Andee will dye to more muted shades than merinos or silks, because of the alpaca content, but sometimes muted and understated is exactly what is called for. Andee will work up beautifully in pattern stitches and cables because of the defined twist, but still have a soft halo.

The worst experience I've had with yarn in 30 years. The 8 oz skeins are so poorly wound it took me 4 - 8 hour days of straightening out twists and tangles on just 4 skeins. I have to take a break before attempting another 6! This is just preparing for dyeing wasting alot of time. YARDAGE is closer to 450 yards than 500 and that is a BIG difference to be accounted for in "approx. 500 yds in 1 skein". VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Do NOT attempt to dye this yarn without tying your own holds. Tie them loosely. The original loop ties on this yarn are pretty loosey goosey. If you don't tie your own holds you will end up with a tangled mess.This yarn needs to soak for at least 12 hour before attempting to dye.After that all is great.

My new favorite. Feels a bit more wooly than some alpaca blends but it's not scratchy. It took dye well. It was easy to wind into smaller skeins. No tangles. My yardage measurements aren't exact but yardage was close enough to the "approximately 500 yards" that if the yardage was over or under it was irrelevant.
