Rapunzel is named for its golden color. Rapunzel is considered "wild" silk, because the silkworms that produce tussah silk are found wild on forest trees. One of its many charms is its natural, soft tan hue, which lends subtlety to overdyeing. While still very strong, the fibers are a bit shorter than cultivated silk. Because this is silk, it will "bloom" once dyed and washed. Glossy, 2-ply, spun in Switzerland. It's ideal for lace, linen stitch, adding texture and shine to weaving and crochet projects.
