Scarf Clip Blanks are, quite simply, made to hold your scarf in place. Covered with 100% Silk Charmeuse and ready to be painted with any one of our silk paints. They have a sturdy spring-loaded scarf ring on the back. We recommend paints or markers only, for use on these clips - steaming or submerging in dye (or washing off of excess dye) will cause the metal to rust and likely dissolve the glue holding the silk in place.
The silk front of the Clip is 1.5" diameter and the scarf ring on the back is 1" diameter.

Love being able to have scarf clips that are customable to match the scarf. I ordered ten and have so far made three the first two went fine. The last one that I made yesterday fell apart... the metal clasp fell off the button back... but I just got some glue and stuck it back on.

I absolutely love these scarf clips! They are perfect for holding silk scarves without the pulling of the fabric which occurs when the scarves are tied into place on the hip (dancers). They are very well made and are easy to work on to embellish or paint!

I have been very disappointed with the quality of the glue on the clips. These used to be very durable and I could steam them along with my scarves. Now they easily fall apart. I have been told by customer service they are not meant to be steamed but the problem is if I used a fabric paint that doesn't need to be steamed the colors do not match what I use for my dyed silk scarves. The quality has definitely gone down.

They are a great idea but the button part needs to be more securely attached to the clip. I wanted to sell them along with my silk scarves but I don't want to sell a product that will only disappoint.

So this is probably stating the painfully obvious but tossing this into a pot of acid dye along with the fabric for a dress isn't the best strategy. Liquid gets trapped inside the body of the clip and by the time it finally drains out there's a rust problem. So. There's that. I'm chalking this up to user error and giving it a good review because I'm sure it would have been fine if I'd just painted it instead.
