Zohar is one of our favorites for light shawls, scarves and featherweight garments. Acid dyes are recommended for Zohar, because of the predominance of merino wool in the mix. You'll get a soft heathered effect in most cases as the acid dye will only lightly stain or leave the bamboo the natural color depending on the dye color. Or dye the Zohar a solid color with iDye Natural dye.
Zohar puffs up nicely after dyeing. The bamboo gives the merino a gleam that adds elegance to shawls and scarves. Ideal for lace work, and crochet! Ideal for lace work, and crochet!

Just finished up three scarfs using this yarn dyed with reactive dye I made up one and then the remaining yarn redyed with one color (blue) for a different scheme dyes up very nice leave for 24 hours and make the dye a little more intense a dream to work with.

Zohar knits up nicely. I mostly use it for lighter socks when wool would be too warm. They do tend to loosen up noticeably with wear though.

Love this yarn! It is so soft and glides on the needles when I knit. I used both Dharma and Jacquard acid dyes and for the most part they take color brilliantly. I used black on a partial skein and could never get it to a true black it became a deep grey with plenty of shine from the bamboo. Even though I wasn't able t get the darkest colors I love how glossy and vibrant this yarn is. Will definitely be purchasing for more projects!

I love love love this yarn! It dyes easily and is a dream to weave with. But that said the skeins were a nightmare to wind this time. My swift is too small to accommodate the skein (that's on me) but a 3 yard circumference is too much for any swift. So I hung it on my warping board and wound from there. Even doing it that way the skein is so large that threads were falling off and it was tangle city. I have 2 pleas to send on to the mill: A 2 yard circumference would be a lot easier to handle and dividing the yardage into 2 skins. Both would make it a lot easier to deal with. OTOH I love this yarn so much that the hassles won't deter me from buying it again.
