Fruit-based and 100% natural, Jagua produces bluish-black tattoos that last 1-2 weeks and LOOK REAL! Made from an Amazonian fruit juice, jagua (Genipa americana) has been used by indigenous peoples of the Amazon for thousands of years to create body art. Thanks to Jacquard, this shelf-stable form of jagua will let you test drive your tattoo ideas - hey, it's only temporary!
When it comes to Jagua and Henna a little goes a LONG way. This shelf stabilized mix is incredibly simple to use: once applied, the color darkens to its final shade over 24 hours and lasts until the skin exfoliates. Don't worry if after the half an hour dry time you remove the jagua and only see a hint of the design, that's normal.
The mix includes a thickening agent so all you'll need is an essential oil and you're ready to start bottling or coning up your jagua!
Ingredients: dehydrated jagua juice (Genipa americana), cane sugar, xanthan gum, citric acid
Safe, non-toxic and intended for ages 12+
Made in: UNITED STATES (USA)
Jacquard Jagua Mix Instructions
How to make approximately 1.5 fluid ounces of Jagua ink:
- Mix 1.5 tablespoons water with .5 tablespoon Jagua powder until smooth. Wait 10 minutes to let the mix settle and combine.
- Mix in .5 teaspoon essential oil of your choice; cajeput, lavender, eucalyptus, tea tree, just be sure that it is oil intended to be used on skin! After mixing in the oil wait another 10 minutes for the ingredients to settle and combine.
- Apply to the skin and allow to dry completely (usually takes about 30 minutes) before removing.
- Remove the dried jagua from the skin and rise the area with cold water.
Your Jagua design will be very faint at first but it will darken over a 24 hour period. Designs usually last between one and two weeks depending on location and how often the area is washed. Rough skin tends to dye darker than smooth skin but areas like hands are washed with greater frequency so are prone to lighten faster.
Note: The mixed Jagua ink will keep for at least one month before losing it's potency. Refrigerate or Freeze to extend it's shelf life.
If you're prone to allergies or have sensitive skin, do a small test and wait a day before trying anything larger.
